Lagos State Government honoured a former presiding Chaplain of Chapel of Christ the Light,Venerable Femi Taiwo on Wednesday.
The highly revered Cleric was sacked by erstwhile Lagos state Governor, Akinwunmi Ambode for not according his wife, Bolanle, preference and recognition in an anointing service in May 2017.
Bolanle stormed out of the service with his entourage, all efforts by the women leaders in the church to persuade her to stay fell on deaf ears, twenty four hours later the Chaplain was sacked.
He was said to have been ordered out of the official quarters where he lived with his wife and children within 24 hours of receiving the sack letter.
Some church members reportedly contributed money to buy household materials for the family as they left the quarters.
The state Commissioner for Home Affairs and Culture, Mrs. Uzamat Akinbile-Yusuf alongside some top government officials presented a gift to Venerable Taiwo on behalf of the government in a low-key celebration attended by church members, friends and well wishers of the cleric.
It will be recalled that the decision to sack Venerable Taiwo drew widespread condemnation from the Christendom.
