RCCG Members, Buhari And Christians At Large Celebrate Mummy G.O At 70
The Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Christendom at large, and all well-wishers celebrate an exemplary woman and mother, Pastor Folu Adeboye, better known as “Mummy Go” as she turned turning 70.
The wife of the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Pastor Mrs Foluke Adenike Adeboye, nee Adeyokunnu, celebrated her 70th birthday on Friday 13 July 2018.
Aside God, Mummy G. O, as she is fondly called by the church faithful, has been the pillar behind the success and great feat her husband, the mathematician turned preacher is experiencing in the eternal assignment he has chosen since becoming the head of the church.
Speaking with the reporters of Redemption Light, the church official magazine, the revered man of God confessed that she, Mrs Adeboye, is his prayer partner. He further explained that there are times he had burdens he could not share with anyone “except the one that knows that if you sink, you sink together and if you float, you float together.”
Mummy G.O is a woman with many attributes. She is a missionary, great women leader, a giver, an educationist, mentor and a worthy role model.
RCCG members around the world celebrated the moment with joy and thanksgiving for the life of the humble and hardworking woman behind the success of Enoch Adeboye, and the growth of the church from about 40 parishes in Nigeria to hundreds in over 168 countries.
President Muhammadu Buhari also joined in celebrating Pastor Folu Adeboye. In a statement, the president’s media adviser, Mr. Femi Adesina, said the president who described Mrs. Adeboye as an exemplary woman and mother, added that Buhari and his family rejoiced with Pastor Adeboye’s family and friends for the grace of service that God has bestowed on them as evident in preaching and living the truth of the gospel, counselling the young and old, and providing warmth and succour for the weak and underprivileged.
The statement added: “As Pastor Adeboye, who is better known as ‘Mummy GO’ attains the landmark age, the President believes her achievements surpass teaching and preaching on the pulpit to include living out the practical love of God, and encouraging many on the virtues of humility, knowledge and hardwork.
“President Buhari affirms that Nigeria’s greatness today among the comity of nations derives largely from the prayers and teachings of mothers like Pastor Adeboye who regularly seek the face of God on behalf of the country and its citizens, and persistently show that real success comes from adding value and bringing joy to others.
“As ‘Mummy GO’ counts her blessings, the President prays that the Almighty God will yet add to her years, and grant her good health and strength to keep living a life of service to God and humanity.”
