SOCIAL MEDIA: Jimi Tewe Counsels Christian Youth
Motivational Speaker, Jimi Tewe has warned Christian youths over image conflicts in the use of social media platforms.
In a chat with www.ecclezzia.com recently, the Senior pastor of KingsWord church Lekki cautioned young Christians to be clear about their identity on social media as the platform is an extension of “who you are”
Jimi Tewe stated “One thing I have been able to do perfectly is that I am pretty clear about who I am on Social Media”. He continued “People ask me how is it that you are able to gain that much popularity with a clean brand on social media? I realize that for example, if I carried the Pastor title on Instagram for example, it might limit me because, people have this perception about that. However, I can be myself, be a Christian and also be a Pastor on that platform.
The CEO of Inspiro Consulting (a Human Resources Consulting firm based in Lagos State, Nigeria), further clarified that there is nothing wrong with making posts about the different aspects of ones life on Social media once, you are clear about it.
He said “Once you are clear about your brand and you are consistent about it, after a while those who appreciate who you are will identify with your brand. There are people on social media I’m sure who do not like me but I am not out to reach everybody. Just be who you are and those you really are able to reach out to ”
