One of the most significant ways in which a Christian experiences inspiration is through fellowship.
When we gather together in fellowship, there is a unique manifestation of the presence of God (Ps. 133).
The place where we gather together in fellowship is a place of blessing. Fellowship brings inspiration which illuminates our inner faculties.
The psalmist talks about the impact of going to the sanctuary or the house of God in Psalm 73: 1-17 (MSG).
It is so easy to be discontent when one looks around and sees the unrighteous prospering until you see their end.
There is power in fellowship as witnessed on the Day of Pentecost in Acts 2.
The outpouring of the Holy Spirit occurred when the apostles were gathered together and not when they were in their individual homes.
When you come to God’s house, your inner eyes are opened especially if you come to see God and not the latest fashion.
Church is the place of inspiration; a place where you receive a paradigm shift – you see as God sees.
In the Old Testament, when the children of Israel gathered there was thunder, lightning and breaking rocks which inspired fear.
In the New Testament, we have come to Mount Zion where there is deliverance. Wherever believers gather becomes a “presidential palace” where we meet with our President who was elected by no one, is everlasting and does not change. Wherever we gather becomes the heavenly Jerusalem – the city of peace; a place of rest. We have come to an innumerable company of angels because whenever God’s people show up, angels are also present. Become conscious of the presence of angels.
Jacob slept in Luz and saw angels ascending and descending a ladder which touched heaven (Gen 28: 11-17). Angels run errands on our behalf.
We are citizens of God’s kingdom and it has the best systems – economic, healthcare, financial and social – in the world.
We come to God, the Judge of all. God is the ultimate judge who has the final say. He is a God of equity and He is the One who restores (Is 50:8).
Joseph was cheated by his brothers, sold him into slavery and they even lied that he was dead but within a set time, the truth was revealed and he was in a better position than they were (Ps. 75: 6-7; Ezekiel 21:27).
Every time we come to fellowship, God is there. Every time we gather together, the spirits of just men like Moses, Elijah and Isaiah, who have gone ahead of us, show up. Any time we say what God’s prophets have said, their spirits show up and we encounter their anointing (Hebrews 12: 18-24).
Church is not for entertainment! It is a serious place where we experience transformation and metamorphosis.
Don’t get distracted by the actions of people around you.
Be like Elisha who desired and got a double portion of the anointing upon Elijah. Every time we gather, we meet with Jesus who is carrying the Blood of the new covenant which brings forgiveness and mercy.
Don’t take church attendance lightly. Each time you come, come with expectation in your heart.
